Description : IDF initiated its Renewable Energy program, known as Solar Power program, in 2003 with support from the Infrastructure Development Company Limited (IDCOL). The main objective of the program was to provide solar electricity to rural and remote areas where residents lacked access to the national power grid. This initiative aligns with IDF's broader goal of enhancing the quality of life for the poor in terms of power and the environment. IDF provided medium and long-term credit facilities to families in non-grid areas to procure solar systems. The organization also received the "Most Promising Partner Award from IDCOL" in 2004.
