Title : Inclusive cities for nutrition (IC4N) - Strengthening urban food systems for improved nutrition in Cox’s Bazar.
Description : From November 2022 to August 2025, the Inclusive Cities for Nutrition (IC4N) project in Cox’s Bazar was implemented with support from Helvetas Swiss Intercooperation. The initiative was carried out across 12 informal settlements (slums) under 8 wards of Cox’s Bazar Municipality. The project directly reached 2,400 beneficiaries, including 2,395 women and 5 men, while also extending its impact to an estimated 29,000 indirect beneficiaries (13,705 women and 13,970 men). Through a combination of technology integration, urban agriculture practices, and active community engagement, the IC4N project worked to strengthen urban food systems and improve nutrition outcomes. It focused on creating more sustainable and inclusive access to safe and nutritious food for vulnerable urban populations living in densely populated informal settlements. Overall, the initiative contributed to building community resilience and promoting better nutrition through locally driven, innovative urban solutions.
