Title :   Conducting Training of Trainers (TOT) for Farmer Leaders on Safe Crop Production and Post-Harvest Loss Management.

Description :   From November 2023 to December 2023, a targeted capacity-building initiative was implemented in Ukhiya and Kutubdiya Upazila with support from the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). The program was designed to strengthen the skills and knowledge of farmer leaders in safe crop production practices and post-harvest loss management. A total of 270 farmer leaders participated in the training, of whom 42.59% were female and 57.40% were male. The initiative followed a Training of Trainers (ToT) approach, ensuring that selected participants were not only equipped with advanced technical knowledge but also developed the capacity to train other farmers within their communities. Through this peer-led model, the project aimed to create a sustainable system of knowledge sharing at the grassroots level. Farmer leaders were empowered to disseminate improved agricultural practices, contributing to higher productivity, reduced post-harvest losses, and better market readiness of farm produce. Ultimately, the initiative supported stronger food security and improved livelihoods in rural farming communities.
