Title :   Increasing Climate Resilience of the Coastal People through Improved WASH Facilities.

Description :   From 1 January 2025 to 30 June 2025, a climate resilience and WASH-focused intervention was implemented with support from World Jewish Relief (WJR). The initiative aimed to strengthen the adaptive capacity of vulnerable communities by improving access to emergency water, hygiene, and sanitation services. The project was carried out in Camp 11 and Camp 15 within the refugee settlements of Cox’s Bazar district, Bangladesh. It directly reached 7,573 people (3,830 males and 3,743 females), while benefiting an additional 34,078 people indirectly through improved services and community-level interventions. At its core, the project focused on enhancing climate resilience among affected populations, with particular emphasis on disaster-resilient and gender-responsive WASH facilities. It also promoted greater community participation in sanitation and hygiene-related disaster preparedness activities. Alongside infrastructure improvements, the initiative placed strong importance on behavior change, strengthening the knowledge of students, adolescents, and parents on climate-resilient hygiene practices. Overall, the intervention contributed to building safer living conditions and improving public health resilience in highly vulnerable camp settings.
